Who we are

Director - Neil Thorpe CBE

Leadership.  With 25+ years of military and business leadership experience, Neil has led multi-disciplined teams ranging from 50 to 5000 people, often in high pressure operational environments. His impact extends across strategy, planning, decision making, governance and stakeholder influence, financial planning, and risk and assurance. He has notable recent board experience with a specific focus on managing organisational change, optimisation of support services and delivery of  efficiencies. He has also completed the IoD delivered MOD Strategic Business Leadership Programme and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. 

Programme and Project Management.  Neil has held several critical Senior Responsible Officer, Programme Director and Project Manager roles within the Defence Sector (GMPP and DMPP). These have included new capability acquisitions and delivery of support services, with budgets in excess of £2Bn, and incorporating international partners and industry, and engagement with other government departments including Cabinet Office and HM Treasury. He is a graduate of the Major Projects Leadership Academy and an Infrastructure Project Authority (IPA) High Risk Review Team Leader. 

Engineering and Logistics Specialist.  As a chartered engineer and supply chain specialist, he is comfortable with problem solving, using data to generate insights, embracing new ideas and technology, and working collaboratively to ensure the very best solutions are realised.  He is passionate about the promotion of STEM careers, actively coaching and mentoring young engineering leaders in both industry and Defence. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.
